Molecular Coding in Specificity in Plant Processes

The SFB 1101´s central scientific question is, how the specificity of biological processes at molecular-mechanistic level is achieved in plants. To be successful, a multidisciplinary approach based on a broad range of scientific know-how and diversified methodological skills is required. In the long term the SFB 1101 intends to be in a position to make precise predictions about the dynamic functioning of specificity-mediating processes in plant development and adaptation. This should open the possibility of creating novel functional cell properties in plants by means of synthetic biology.
