Basic data
Acronym:
K2ID-SOEP
Title:
Early childhood education and care quality in the Socio-Economic Panel
Duration:
01/09/2013 to 30/04/2017
Abstract / short description:
The project aims to generate new insight with respect to socio-economic differences in parental choices of ECEC institutions and direct consequences of ECEC quality for child outcomes as well as indirect effects on child wellbeing through parental employment and wellbeing. We propose to collect nationally representative data on structural and process quality in early childhood education and care institutions which are attended by children whose parents are interviewed annually by the Socio-Economic Panel Study (SOEP). Linking the new data to the SOEP will enable us to answer our research questions and provide the basis for a myriad of future enquires on the medium and long term effects of ECEC quality on children and families.
