Abstract / short description:
The Lisbon Treaty offers the chance for a comprehensive parliamentarization of the EU; the treaty strengthens the European Parliament as well as national and regional parliaments. Thus, the parliamentary multi-level systems become more complex. The project has two key objectives: (1) it analysis the increase in competences as well as the functional transformation of parliaments and covers also interparliamentary cooperation; (2) Information will be provided to a general and academic public via discussions, seminars, lectures, workshops and a conference.
