Title:
Transparent Quantum Software Engineering and Algorithm Design of Application-centric End-to-End Solutions
Duration:
01/01/2023 to 31/03/2024
Abstract / short description:
The joint projects SEQUOIA and EFFEKTIF have shown in the first project phase 2021-2022 of the Competence Center Quantum Computing Baden-Württemberg that efficient implementations of hybrid quantum algorithms (and thus of quantum applications) cannot currently be realized using standard methods of today's SDKs. Pre- and postprocessing as well as the specifics of today's quantum hardware are insufficiently integrated into the automated quantum circuit generation and the entire transpilation pipeline, respectively, so that no high-performance solutions can be generated using these approaches.

The goal of the follow-up project SEQUIOA END-TO-END is, based on the results of the first funding phase, to make these bottlenecks in the entire solution process of industrial problems transparent and to develop and provide high-performing, automated and controllable end-to-end solutions of industrial applications by means of holistic quantum software engineering.
