Research focus

I am a physical geographer largely focused on biogeomorphology, ecohydrology and soil erosion. My research interests include the bioprotective roles of plant traits and particularly forest vegetation layers regarding sediment translocation. Moreover, I investigate how biological soil crusts, soil mesofauna and plant species richness affects soil degradation. For that purpose, I'm also interested in improvements of in-situ erosion measurements using state-of-the-art sensor technology.
