Title:
Interdisciplinary junior scientist workshop: Mathematical General Relativity
Duration:
26/02/2023 to 20/03/2023
Abstract / short description:
A little more than 100 years ago, A. Einstein presented his general theory of relativity. Since then, it developed into a mathematically and physically challenging and active field of research with connections to analysis, geometry, classical mechanics, etc.
We plan a two week long international workshop for junior scientists. It has the goal to introduce them to current mathematical and physical questions from Mathematical Relativity. The participants report on the research and get extensive feedback from the audience. There will also be lecture series by internationally recognized experts who present basics and open questions of their research fields. In addition, there will be evening talks from astrophysics etc. and a workshop on science communication.
