Abstract / short description:
The formation of stars comprising the interaction between star, protostellar disk & outflows can only be understood through a multi-wavelength approach. The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Director’s Discretionary Program "Ultraviolet Legacy Library of Young Stars as Essential Standards" (ULLYSES) closes a gap in the so far poorly covered UV wavelength range. It is accompanied by PENELLOPE, an ESO Public Survey at the Very Large Telescope that provides optical multi-epoch spectroscopy and by photometric monitoring data from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite. This PhD project is part of a joint effort among several german institutes to exploit the above-mentioned data sets for an unprecedented detailed view of young stellar evolution.
