Title:
Advanced Solid-State Chemistry and Properties of Inorganic Metal Dinitridocarbonates
Duration:
01/07/2022 to 30/06/2025
Abstract / short description:
Dinitridocarbonates have shown to exist in combinations with various metals of the periodic system of elements (PSE). The objective of this research is to develop new compounds, which lead to further understanding of basic science, and are of potential relevance as applied systems. To achieve this goal, we will steadily improve solid-state metathesis (SSM) reactions which can facilitate target-orientated preparations when controlled by (in situ) thermal analysis.
In the light of existing compounds, we will focus on three areas that are not yet established: a) complex metal cyanamides (M(NCN)6/n) as framework compounds, b) metal carbodiimide-carbides (M-(CN2)-(C2)) with potentially interesting electric and magnetic properties, and c) metal carbodiimide-phosphates (M-(CN2)-(PO4)) with optical properties and potential lithium ionic conductivity. Syntheses, structures and properties will be studied.
