Title:
Digitization, Health, Old age - ethical, legal, and social Aspects
Duration:
01/01/2022 to 31/12/2023
Abstract / short description:
Objective: The research retreats aims to enable early career researchers from different disciplines to work
on questions regarding the ethical, legal and social aspects in the context of digitalisation, health and
ageing. In particular, interdisciplinary cooperation and the application of an international comparative
perspective will be supported.
Procedure: The retreat brings together early career researchers and experts from the disciplines of ethics,
law, social and psychogerontology, medicine and the relevant technical sciences in order to promote an
interdisciplinary approach. The comparison with the Netherlands is used as an example to include further
international perspectives. The Netherlands is considered a pioneer regarding the application of digital
technologies in the health sector and is, therefore, particularly qualified as a comparison country. In order to
support international networking and cooperation, 7 participants from Germany and 7 participants from the
Netherlands as well as experts from both countries will be invited to the retreat.
The participants will apply in response to a call for abstracts. Their own contributions will be presented and
discussed during the retreat. The retreat also combines different methodological approaches: the
participants' presentations will be supplemented by expert presentations, group work and a theatre
workshop. After the reatreat, the participants will be supported in publishing their contributions in an
international journal.
