ProjectDNPM – Deutsches Netzwerk für Personalisierte Medizin

Basic data

Acronym:
DNPM
Title:
Deutsches Netzwerk für Personalisierte Medizin
Duration:
01/08/2021 to 31/12/2024
Abstract / short description:
The aim of the project is the accompanying evaluation for the implementation of the German Network for Personalized Medicine (DNPM). The evaluation concept is based on scientific standards, but also takes into account everyday health care and thus essential criteria of implementation research. The implementation is mapped by a comprehensive qualitative-quantitative process, structure and outcome evaluation. Specifically, the evaluation of the DNPM includes (1) the current situation at the CCCs including existing molecular tumor boards, (2) the implementation of the new structures, and (3) the added value of integrating the individual ZPMs into a Germany-wide network. The analysis is methodologically oriented to the stepped wedge design (waiting group design for studies with cluster structure, but without randomization) by stepwise transition from the control group with site-specific, non-harmonized personalized medicine, to the group with harmonized PM.
Research questions of the evaluation are set at the micro level (patients, interactions), the meso level (individual ZPM) and the macro level (ZPM network, health care system), whereby the primary outcome in terms of confirmatory testing refers to the management change at the patient level.
