Perturbative Berechnungen von Wirkungsquerschnitten für ALICE

Abstract / short description:
Cross sections for identified hadrons or photons with large transverse momentum in the final state are of central importance for the physics program of the ALICE experiment. Building on our expertise on the theoretical computation of such cross sections, and on our long-standing support work for the ALICE experiment, we plan new and improved studies of observables in the processes pp → hX and pp → h1h2X, as well as for similar processes with final-state photons. Our studies have direct applications for the experimental analyses that are carried out by the German ALICE groups. They are furthermore relevant for building the "physics case" for future upgrades of ALICE.
