ProjectGRCT - Gnotobiotic Research Center Tübingen
Basic data
Title:
GRCT - Gnotobiotic Research Center Tübingen
Duration:
01/07/2019 to 31/12/2024
Abstract / short description:
A new Gnotobiotic Research Center Tübingen (GRCT) will be installed to provide the CoE with animal models necessary for in vivo simulation of microbiome-host interaction. Animal facilities with the option to study experimental infections on containment level two and capacities for gnotobiotic animal upkeep and germ-free derivatization are available to the CoE and will be strongly extended when the new M3 Research Institute building will be available by 2021. The existing resources will be combined and substantially upgraded with new equipment and service personnel by CoE funding to form the new GRCT, providing the basis for advanced functional studies on mammalian microbiomes.
