Abstract / short description:
MIMVAC is a large international consortium (10 partner institutions) which brings together stakeholders of the most promising and advanced malaria vaccine candidates. The overall aim of the MIMVAC project is to accelerate the development of highly effective malaria vaccines that meet the goals set by the WHO Malaria Vaccine Technology Roadmap.
Within this program, five promising malaria vaccine candidates will be tested in clinical trials in Tübingen and Africa (CHMI trials, phase 2 trials) to down-select the most promising candidate (safe, well tolerated and efficacious) for advanced clinical development beyond the project end.
