Title:
KI-basiertes Tracking-System zur automatisierten, objektiven und reproduzierbaren Durchführung von Verhaltensstudien an Maus-Modellen zur Erforschung des Epilepsie- Spektrums (KI-Track)
Duration:
01/09/2020 to 30/04/2023
Abstract / short description:
Behavioural studies in laboratory animals are essential for research into neurological diseases, their diagnosis and therapy, but currently require a great deal of manual effort. For the automatic and objective performance of such studies, the project aims to develop an innovative, automated AI-based system for the classification of epileptic behavior. The system will be used for annotation, tracking and scoring. By means of an occlusion predictor, hidden body parts will also be included in the behavior classification. A camera-supported, cage-integrable experimental arena will be constructed, in which the experimental animal is recorded three-dimensionally. In the arena, targeted acoustic or optical stimulation can be used and the reaction of the test animal can be directly evaluated via real-time recording. The combination of hardware and software results in the overall system KI-Track, which is used for the automated, objective and reproducible performance of behavioral studies. The KI-Track system is to be distributed by Striatech GmbH to scientific and industrial research institutions.
