Langreichweitige Rydberg-Wechselwirkungen in einem Mikrowellenresonator bei endlicher Temperatur, Schwerpunktprogramm "Giant Interactions in Rydberg Systems (GiRyd)"
Duration:

Abstract / short description:
The goal of the project is the experimental realization of long-range coherent interactions between Rydberg atoms mediated by a superconducting coplanar microwave resonator at a finite temperature. We seek to demonstrate that these interactions and the conditional excitation of pairs of spatially separated Rydberg atoms can be made insensitive to the photon number fluctuations of the cavity. With this we aim to explore novel schemes of quantum gates based on cavity-mediated coherent interactions between distant pairs of Rydberg atoms or atomic ensembles in the Rydberg blockade regime that do not require a zero temperature microwave cavity but are feasible at the temperature of liquid helium (4K) on standard atom chips.
