Title:
Bulk Properties of Nuclear Systems and Three Nucleon Forces 2
Duration:
01/01/2019 to 31/12/2020
Abstract / short description:
The aim of this second funding period of the project is to extend the investigation of not-expected results obtained in the first funding period and to complete the studies, which have not yet been finished in this first period.
In particular we want to explore in more detail the relevance of 3N forces, simulating relativistic effects or as obtained in the modern Effective Field Theories, in the transition from nuclear matter to finite nuclei. This is important since the approach presently used for the study of finite nuclei employs a parameter, which is difficult to control. A consistent study of infinite nuclear matter and finite nuclei is very important, to establish the link between data obtained for finite nuclei and a reliable Equation of State as needed in the simulation of objects in astrophysics as neutron stars, supernova and scenarios leading to gravitational waves.
