ProjectTRR 240/1, A08 – Platelets
Basic data
Acronym:
TRR 240/1, A08
Title:
Platelets
Duration:
01/07/2018 to 30/06/2022
Abstract / short description:
This project will focus on regulation of the platelet lipidome. We will characterise the molecular mechanisms governing platelet lipid metabolism and its functional consequences on thrombo-inflammation, decipher the dynamic changes in the platelet lipidome under pathophysiological condi-tions, and its relevance for atheroprogression and organ ischaemia. We will combine transgenic hy-perlipidaemic mouse models, high-resolution platelet imaging, and lipidomics approaches to disclose the key players governing platelet lipid metabolism. Besides, novel therapeutic targets will be identified and validated in experimental studies.
