Abstract / short description:
The aim of this project is to address the mechanism of mistranslation-induced toxicity in Escherichia coli and the cellular responses aimed to undo the damaging effects of mistranslation using biochemical approaches in combination with quantitative proteomics. In particular, we are interested in comparison of canonical and non-canonical mistranslation on all points to tackle the constraints that likely draw selection of the canonical amino acid protein alphabet.
