Non-alcoholic fatty pancreas disease (NAFPD) - ein neuer Diabetes-Phänotyp?
Duration:

Abstract / short description:
The role of the non-alcoholic fatty pancreas disease (NAFPD) in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes is unclear.
We hypothesise that individuals with a high risk for diabetes (individuals with prediabetes) show an association between increased pancreatic fat content and impaired insulin secretion. The mechanisms for this association are unclear in humans.
We are planning a deep phenotyping project in 200 individuals with prediabetes including several aspects of beta cell function and whole body fat imaging as well as untargeted metabolomic approach.
