Biofunktionalisierung der Trägermatrizen mit Osteogenese-fördernden Peptiden und VEGF Nanosphären

Abstract / short description:
In the framework of the cooperation project between the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the company Curasan AG, resorbable ceramics for critical bone defects will be developed. The use of autologous bone material leads to considerable morbidity of the patient donor site. The immobilization of the ceramics with resorbable organic materials should improve the mechanical stability of the constructs.
Therefore, ceramic materials will be stabilized by the addition of organic components such as collagen, polylactic acid or gelatin. The immobilization method should not influence the ceramic properties e.g. porosity. After improvement of the mechanical stability, biofunctionalization strategies with RGD-peptides and VEGF-containing particles for an enhanced neoangiogenesis will be established. The biocompatibility and hemocompatibility of developed ceramic constructs will be tested in vitro and in vivo.
