Abstract / short description:
The project objective is the strengthening of the pharmaceutical education in Malawi by a reform of the BPharm curriculum and the establishment of a new MSc Pharm curriculum, the strengthening of the course "Pharmacy in Global Health" at the University of Tuebingen and the establishment of networks between the University of Tuebingen, the University of Malawi and further partners.
Events/meetings:
• Meetings for the revision of the existing Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) curriculum of the Pharmacy Departments, UNIMA, and for the development and implementation of a curriculum for a Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSc Pharm) curriculum.
• Development of selected teaching modules with specific relevance for the present pharmaceutical challenges in Malawi, and implementation of these modules in Malawi.
• Further development of the course “Pharmacy in Global Health” at the Pharmaceutical Institute of the University of Tübingen, and involvement of Malawian lecturers into this course
• Supporting the career development of young scientists by staff exchange in the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
• Exchange of pharmacy students in the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
• Four project workshops in the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
The course “Pharmacy in Development Cooperation and Disaster Relief“ is offered every year for students of pharmacy, and for graduated pharmacists, at the Pharmaceutical Institute of the University of Tuebingen. Details: www.pharmbiol.uni-tuebingen.de/ak-heide/77661.html
