Title:
Neutron Star Physics in the Era of Gravitational Wave Astronomy
Duration:
01/01/2017 to 31/12/2019
Abstract / short description:
This is a 3-year exchange program focusing on Neutron Stars and Gravitational Wave Astronomy between the groups of Theoretical Astrophysics (EKUT) and the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The integration of the two groups will be facilitated through a series of mutual exchanges for collaboration on a detailed research plan and through the exchange of guest lecturers. Furthermore, specialised workshops will be organised aiming at intensifying the research collaboration as well as a summer school, targeted at training young students and introducing them to the field of neutron stars as sources of gravitational waves.
