Basic data

Title:
Women’s Football and Confidence
Duration:
01/08/2016 to 28/02/2017
Abstract / short description:
With this study the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) aims to investigate the (positive) effects of sport participation of girls in childhood and adolescence (13-17 years old) in order to improve the understanding for the associated mechanisms. Based on this information conclusions can be drawn about the psychosocial effects of regular sport participation, club structures, and the relationship with coaches. Particular consideration is given to constructs that previous international researchers have found to be relevant influences on the overall development of children and adolescents and, in particular, their psychosocial and physical health (e.g., self-efficacy).
