Title:
China Centrum Tübingen
Duration:
01/04/2016 to 31/12/2020
Abstract / short description:
The China Centre (CCT) is a interdisciplinary institute dedicated to undertaking research with real-world applications, and serving students, research, business and NGO communities, as well as the general public. We aim to bring together both scholars and practitioners who engage with China in their professional practice to promote communication, cooperation and mutually beneficial exchanges with one another and with our Chinese counterparts. CCT has a particular interest in investigating questions of “values” – how others think, what shapes their beliefs and how ethical considerations in turn shape their actions. Through a better understanding of these issues, we aim to foster Fernkompetenz – a form of profound cultural competence – and facilitate smoother engagement between Germany and China.
