This project investigates how alcohol use disorder (AUD) affects brain structure across psycho-sociodemographic factors and distinguishes AUD from other substance use disorders (SUDs). Using advanced machine learning methods, we will analyze structural MRI data from multiple large datasets, including human and rodent studies. The project focuses on integrating psycho-sociodemographic variables, multimodal modeling (EMA, fMRI), and explainable AI techniques to uncover neural and behavioral markers of AUD. The goal is to enhance our understanding of AUD’s neurobiological and psychosocial underpinnings.
