Title:
European Training Program for Deconvolution of Multi-scale Cilia Function in Health and Disease by Integrating Machine Learning-AI Approaches
Duration:
01/01/2025 to 31/12/2028
Abstract / short description:
The Cilia-AI doctoral network aims to train the next generation of interdisciplinary biomedical researchers and entrepreneurs with machine learning approaches, a subset of AI, to study the fundamentals of primary cilia function and its dysfunction in human rare disease, the ciliopathies. We look to link genotype to phenotype relationships in the ciliopathies, by understanding variant-function, improve molecular and cellular profiling of disease states and accelerate quantitative high content imaging across scales by leveraging AI-based tools and analyses to identify the molecular and cellular processes involved in cilia biology and its dysfunction in disease. Cilia-AI combines the expertise of 9 academic, 3 industrial, and 2 non‐profit sector partners. The prime deliverable will be 15 highly trained cross-disciplinary Doctoral Candidates (DCs) with unique skills for academic or private sector careers within the European job market.
