Abstract / short description:
We carry out theoretical calculations of cross sections for high-pT photon, low-mass dilepton, and eta meson production, all of which are central to the ALICE physics program. Our calculations will be based on a framework that combines state-of-the-art perturbative-QCD techniques with extractions of fragmentation functions for the observed particles. Our studies will have direct applications to current ALICE measurements and to plans for future upgrades of the experiment.
