Title:
Supporting activation of patients with non-chronified back pain through wearables and a cognitive-behavioral eHealth course
Duration:
01/12/2022 to 31/05/2023
Abstract / short description:
The new low-threshold, non-invasive form of care for the activation of adult patients with subacute or recurrent, debilitating non-specific low back pain (NSRS) is intended to 1. reduce pain, 2. improve quality of life (QoL), 3. avoid unnecessary imaging, and 4. restore the ability to work via an interdisciplinary and eHealth-based care pathway. The hypothesis is that a full-day initial everyday postural and dynamic assessment using wearables followed by physiotherapeutic coaching and at least 9 weeks of sensorimotor training with a parallel 6-week cognitive-behavioral eHealth course will improve pain and QoL in the short term, be cost-effective, and help avoid chronicity in the medium term.
