The aim of the project is to enter into a dialog on methods of literary and cultural studies research on biodiversity and to develop a trilateral, comparative network focused on gaining insights in the following fields: (1) our culturally shaped fascination with biodiversity and its media and artistic documentation in various genres, (2) culturally specific aesthetics of species extinction affected by grief and multimedia strategies of remembrance, and (3) the relationship between biodiversity and cultural diversity.
