Basic data
Title:
The role of microorganisms in iron toxicity in rice (Oryza sativa)
Duration:
01/01/2024 to 31/12/2024
Abstract / short description:
Iron toxicity is a major problem in smallholder rice fields in sub-Saharan Africa. West Africa and south-eastern Africa are home to some of the poorest countries in the world where rice is one of the most important staple foods. Management options for seasonal iron toxicity are urgently needed. The aim of this project is to develop such options via seed coating with endophytic bacteria. Funding was requested here to realize cooperation with researchers in Africa.
