Title:
Turbulence structures in the airport environment or in the vicinity of runways
Duration:
18/10/2023 to 17/10/2027
Abstract / short description:
The concept of the University of Tübingen, AG Umweltphysik envisages the use of two small multicopter UAS to reliably determine the turbulence structures in the airport environment in continuous operation. Each of the two UAS has a ground station at which the flight batteries are electrically charged. The measurement data can be transmitted in flight via live telemetry from the UAS to a remote user via the ground station. Two additional UAS will be kept in reserve to prevent wear and tear or technical failures. At the beginning of the project, four multicopter UAS of the type MASC-MC will be set up. These MASC-MC (Multi-Purpose Sensor Carrier - MultiCopter) are an in-house development of the AG Umweltphysik (www.umphy.de) at the University of Tübingen.
