ProjectSustainable metal complexes for the activation of small molecules
Basic data
Title:
Sustainable metal complexes for the activation of small molecules
Duration:
01/01/2024 to 31/12/2027
Abstract / short description:
The goal of our research is to advance the development of new methods for upgrading small molecules to higher value products. To this end, redox-active multinuclear complexes are expected to open up new perspectives in this field. The focus is on gaining a deeper understanding of the processes of fixation and activation of the small molecules: How strongly do the substrates bind to the respective metals? What influence do metal-metal bonds have on the activation process? What part in the reaction do the redox-active ligands take?
