Title:
Teaching scenarios and further training on instructional videos
Duration:
01/06/2023 to 31/12/2025
Abstract / short description:
The "WÖRLD" project consists of 14 subprojects (SP) from the fields of economic and business education. The central goal of the project is the evidence-based transfer of digital and hybrid learning environments/teaching scenarios and digitally supported teaching/learning processes in the domain of economics for the digitization-related competence development of teachers across all three phases of teacher training. In SP 6, the focus is on teachers’ reflection on the digital pedagogical content competence. In this context, teaching scenarios and further training offers for the creation and use of explanatory videos as central digital representation will be designed. In a first step, teaching scenarios for the use of explanatory videos on central economic topics will be developed and tested. The digitally supported teaching scenarios focus on the integration of explanatory videos into lessons (e.g. through interactive elements). In a second step, an associated teacher training will be designed and offered several times, comprising the following modules: a) the relevance of explanatory videos in economics lessons, b) assessment of the quality and effectiveness of explanatory videos with the help of video annotation, c) reflection on the teachers’ competences against the background of the digitally supported teaching scenarios (see step 1).
In the context of the teacher training, teachers are enabled to assess the quality of explanatory videos that are freely available on the Internet or created by the teacher him/herself, as well as digitally supported teaching scenarios, and to develop explanatory videos themselves for the design of digitally supported teaching. In this way, SP 6 contributes to teachers developing both their digital pedagogical content competence and their subject-related reflection competence.
