Abstract / short description:
Some people have persisting symptoms after acute COVID-19. This condition is called Long- or Post-COVID. Usually, these patients can be cared for and treated in primary care practices. Only rarely is referral to other specialists necessary, and even more rarely referral to a special outpatient clinic at a university hospital.
In a joint project with the four university hospitals in Heidelberg, Freiburg, Ulm and Tübingen, the Institute of General Medicine is currently developing new care concepts that are tailored to the needs patients with Post-COVID. Concept for cross-sectoral and adaptive care of Post-COVID in Baden-Württemberg will be developed. In addition, patient education and training courses are planned as part of the project. The aim is to treat patients according to their needs and to reduce the burden on the healthcare system.
The project is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs.
