Basic data
Title:
Effects of ON/OFF stimulation and defocus on retinal responses and ciliary muscle
Duration:
01/03/2023 to 29/02/2024
Abstract / short description:
Myopia is associated with an increased risk of severe eye diseases. Global public health systems and economies need effective methods for preventing myopia onset and progression in children. This project aims at investigating the role of nearwork as one major risk factor for myopia. The accommodation apparatus
and retinal processing when changing the visual experience during close work are assessed in emmetropic and myopic eyes. Outcomes are expected to markedly improve current treatments for myopia management.
