Title:
New avenues for semi-inclusive scattering at the EIC
Duration:
01/10/2022 to 30/09/2025
Abstract / short description:
The project will address a suite of entirely new aspects of SIDIS processes at the Electron Ion Collider. Our studies will combine high-order precision computations in QCD perturbation theory with phenomenology for the future EIC. Specifically, we plan to extend our NNLO calculations for SIDIS of the first funding period to electroweak SIDIS, which is important for exploring the rich spin structure of nucleons. We also plan to extend previous studies of all-order QCD resummation for SIDIS by including terms that are sub-leading near threshold. In addition, we will address new types of SIDIS observables at the EIC, hadron pair production, spin transfer phenomena, and photoproduction reactions.
