Implementing video recordings in the delivery room to optimize quality of care during resuscitation of newborn infants combined with a research project on the adherence to published guidelines on suctioning in neonates with meconium-stained amniotic fluid

Video recording (VR) in the delivery room has become a useful tool in the last two decades to evaluate the performance of resuscitators, the reliability of resuscitation assessments, and the physiological adaptation of the newborn in the delivery room. We would like to investigate the adherence of suctioning of meconium-stained amniotic fluid (MSAF) in term infants. We speculate that the practice of suctioning of MSAF in vigorous and non-vigorous neonates are handled differently among physicians and neonatal units despite published guideline not recommending it. The aim is to determine the adherence to published guidelines on suctioning of meconium-stained amniotic fluid in the Dept. of Neonatology.
