Description:
In 1996, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations established an award in honour of Professor Dr Gisela Bonn, the great expert on India and promoter of German-Indian relations. According to the award's statutes, the president of the German-Indian Society is responsible for chairing the selection jury.
The Gisela Bonn Prize is awarded annually for outstanding achievements in the field of German-Indian relations. It is primarily intended to honour the work of young academics and journalists. The prize is not tied to any specific topic and covers both the political and economic as well as the cultural aspects of relations between the two countries.
