Establishment of an international working group to deliver an unequivocal “compare & contrast study” utilizing the various approaches in the field measuring mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) as a biomarker for Parkinson’s disease (PD). The project goal is to bring forward the best protocol to pave the way for a large cross-cohort study and provide an entry point for precision therapeutics and improved clinical study design.
