Untersuchung von Resonanzen im Di-Baryon-System anhand von Daten zur Multi-Pionenproduktion und Neutron-Proton-Streuung

Abstract / short description:
In this project candidates for resonances in the system of two baryons shall be investigated. Starting point is that we have found a resonance structure with isospin-spin-parity I(JP)=0(3+) in the double-pionic fusion to deuterium, which is tightly correlated with the so-called ABC effect known since decades. This structure appears at 2.37 GeV, i.e. about 90 MeV below the DeltaDelta threshold with a width of about 70 MeV, i.e. roughly three times narrower than a conventional DeltaDelta excitation via t-channel meson exchange. Since the previous application we succeeded to reveal the resonance structure in all NNpipi channels as well as in neutron-proton scattering with help of WASA data (except of nppi+pi-) With regard to the np scattering our data for the analyzing power in the resonance region have been shown to produce a resonance pole in the SAID partial-wave analysis in the 3D3-3G3 coupled partial waves. This means that the observed resonance structure is a true s-channel resonance. Aim is the analysis of WASA data to extract differential cross sections for np scattering as well as for the nppi+pi- channel in the resonance region, further-on to trace electromagnetic decay channels of the resonance and finally to search for a predicted NN-decoupled state in the region of the DeltaN threshold.
