Project A Study into the Nature of Compact Objects with X-ray Reflection Spectroscopy

Basic data

Title:
A Study into the Nature of Compact Objects with X-ray Reflection Spectroscopy
Duration:
01/03/2019 to 28/02/2021
Abstract / short description:
Einstein's General Relativity is the standard theory for describing gravitational fields in our universe. Though highly successful, it leaves many fundamental questions unanswered. Test of Einstein's theory in the strong field regions of our universe, e.g., around compact objects like black holes and neutron stars, will lead development of Physics in the decades to come. The goal of this project is to analyze the strong field regions with X-ray reflection spectroscopy, to understand the nature of the compact objects.
