Project The relation between microrheology and force generation in live cells

Basic data

Title:
The relation between microrheology and force generation in live cells
Duration:
22/08/2018 to 21/08/2019
Abstract / short description:
The aim of the project is to elucidate the structural and functional relationship between passive and active cell mechanics. We plan to use scanning probe microscopy-based methods to resolve viscoelastic properties of live cells in space and time, and to combine these methods with complementary methods for studying force generation in live cells such as femtosecond laser surgery. This combination will allow us to address fundamental questions in cell mechanics research and to generate new approaches for treating diseases such as cancer.
