Project Deutsch-georgisch-armenischer Doktorand(inn)en-Workshop
Basic data
Title:
Deutsch-georgisch-armenischer Doktorand(inn)en-Workshop
Duration:
01/01/2017 to 31/12/2017
Abstract / short description:
In a two-part workshop ten German and ten Georgian / Armenian doctoral candidates, who
either have begun their doctoral studies or are about to start taking the doctoral degree,
should be made familiar with the scientific methodology in the preparation of a dissertation
and obtain an insight into another jurisdiction at the same time.
In the first part, the participants should furthermore examine current criminal challenges and
critically scrutinize legal problems. In addition to learning basic principles of scientific research
based on a topic detached from the respective doctoral thesis, a comparison of two
different legal systems should open new perspectives and motivate for a deeper comparative
legal analysis within the own dissertation project.
In the second part, the participants should reflect the acquired knowledge and present as
well as discuss their own dissertation project in form of a classical doctoral seminar. The first
part of the workshop should take place in Tübingen in November 2016, the second part in
Tbilisi in March 2017.
The project is headed by Prof. Dr. Bernd Heinrich, Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure
and Copyright Law at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen. The Georgian or
Armenian side includes other leading scientists, namely Prof. Irine Kherkheulidze an Ph.D.
