Abstract / short description:
This research project aims at making and studying the properties of complexes of the transition metals in thiolate-based ligand environments. The central motivation is to understand how two redox-active metal sites can be coupled in a cooperative fashion in a chemical process. The goal of this project is to evaluate the properties of transition-metal thiolate complexes as precatalysts for the electrocatalytic production of energy carriers such as hydrogen gas.
